~Sin*ful~ ::: last waltz :::

"May I have this dance?" she asked
He pulled her close into his arms
And waltzed her around the room
Mesmerized by her charm

They'd been dancing together for many years
He cherished their little routine
Each trying to ask for a special dance
At a moment that was not foreseen

Sometimes when she was doing dishes
Into his arms she would be swept
They'd tango around the kitchen
These times she had come to accept

She'd sneak up on him after work
While the newspaper he was reading
Twisting and shouting in the family room
On his laughter she was feeding

On the night her mother died
She pushed his arms away
"No more dances" she pleaded
Perhaps again someday.

Three years later this was the day
She had missed their dances so much...
Regretted pushing him away...
Needed his supportive touch...

As they danced now around the room
What she whispered brought a smile to his face
"I love you Daddy, this won't be the last dance"
Then he put her veil into place.
